Salamanca, Guanajuato. – On Wednesday August 24, Municipal General Director of Economic Development, Fidel Guerra Ahued declared: “Salamanca is attracting companies and a large number of jobs are being created, triggering an economic growth for this municipality”.

Guerra Ahued stressed: “At this point in time, important transnational companies such as “Daltile”, (with a 1.5 billion pesos (78.9 million USD) investment), are expanding their operation in our state.

“Besides, with the presence of Mazda, many “satellite” companies are arriving to Salamanca. But we can’t reveal information about these companies until they are properly established in our state.”

The Municipal General Director of Economic Development continued: “The goal of this attraction effort is to create jobs. In the past job fair held in Salamanca, 1, 200 positions for different regional and local companies (a total of 34), were offered”.

“Some of these companies are yet to be installed in our municipality; however, they have started their recruitment program; reflecting Salamanca’s great dynamism in the industrial supplier, and service sectors”.

Finally, Guerra concluded that international firms will continue to arrive in Salamanca, and obviously, the creation of new well-paid jobs will result of those arrivals. “We expect the arrival of more international companies (mainly in the automotive sector), before the end of this year.”

The officer reiterated that he is unable to provide more information because the companies themselves will announce their own investments and the number of jobs that they will be generating.
