Jesús Omar Sistos Barrón has a big dream, he wants to win the Gold Medal in the International Mathematics Competition. This encourages the 14-year-old young man from Guanajuato, who has represented his state and his country in several national and international mathematics competitions.

Jesus, who is nicknamed “Chusito”, wants to be the world mathematics champion and give Mexico the honor of this maximum title.

On July 2016, “Chusito” who is left-handed, traveled to Thailand as the only student who represented Guanajuato in the Mexico team at the International Math Competition, where he won two bronze medals.

During this double triumph, he outflanked Mexico’s flag and wore his “Leon” shirt, his favorite football team.

For three consecutive years, Jesús has won the gold medal in the National Mathematics Olympiad.

Chusito has always had his parents’ support, Omar Sistos, Chusito’s father, declared that Jesús has always been a very inteligent young man, he is ahead of his class, and he even learned to read quickly and at a very young age.

Jesus Omar said: “Mathematics make you work hard, they are difficult sometimes, and you have to give everything you have to get rid of your fears and dare to try new things. When you do that, you can learn things easier”.

The young student acknowledged the support given by the Ministry of Education and the state government.

Minister of Education, Eusebio Vega and Guanajuato Governor, Miguel Marquez sent congratulations to Jesus Omar and his family for this achievement at the International Mathematics Competition.
