Scorpion in a bottle causes military mobilization and eviction of merchants

Leon, Guanajuato.- Tenants of the Orozco Passage were evicted due to a strange object, thought to be an explosive device.

When the Army arrived, it was totally ruled out that some kind of explosive was found in the Orozco Passage, but instead it was a small bottle of alcohol with a liquid inside and stored in a black case. The bottle, moreover, had a dead scorpion inside.

Army personnel ordered all the shops to close down and the shopping center known as “Pasaje Orozco” in León, Guanajuato was totally evacuated.

Fire, Civil Protection and Police discarded any type of risk of explosion.

The object was raised by the military who will take charge of the container and the merchants returned to their work without any risk.

The local news website am.com.mx and other media initially published the note stating that an explosive device was found at “Pasaje Orozco“, but later on Friday several media outlets confirmed that it was all a false alarm, and the finding was nothing but a bottle containing a dead scorpion inside (as ridiculous as it may sound).
