The wedding of Carlos Ariel Moreira’s daughter was held on Saturday July 29 in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.
And according to comments on social networks from residents of the state of Coahuila, Carlos Ariel Moreira, former leader of the teachers´union, used economic resources from the union to pay for such an extravagant wedding.
Moreira is the brother of the former Governors Humberto and Rubén Moreira (both accused of corruption charges).
The former Governor of Coahuila and current Secretary General of the PRI, Rubén Moreira, was a guest of honor in this wedding.
At the hotel (one of the most luxurious in San Miguel), 110 rooms were reserved for more than 250 guests who enjoyed breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, national and international wines and a banquet totally paid by the father of the bride, Carlos Ariel Moreira, who is the current Coordinator of Educational Development within the teachers’ union (Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación: SNTE).
A leader of the SNTE, who requested anonymity, said that the teachers of Coahuila are convinced that the wedding was paid “with money stolen from the Union’s Medical Service”, which is currently in crisis.
