The Secretary of Tourism of the state of Guanajuato, Teresa Matamoros Montes, announced the reports of actions carried out with members of the Tourist Observatory (OTEG), the Consultative Council (COTUEG), and the State Consultative Film and Audiovisual Council.

In the Seventh Ordinary Session of the State Cinematographic and Audiovisual Consultative Council of the state of Guanajuato, Matamoros Montes reported that 89 film projects were supported during 2018, which have generated 62 million impacts (views) in the state.

Figures compared to the previous year show significant growth in terms of supported projects with location facilities, management and permits. It should be noted that in the year 2017, 73 projects were supported that had a scope in view of 25 million reproductions.

However, other projects have chosen locations such as San Miguel de Allende, Leon, Comonfort, Santiago Valley, San Francisco del Rincon, Irapuato, San Luis de la Paz, among other municipalities of the state of Guanajuato.

The Tourist Observatory of the State of Guanajuato, as part of the State Tourist Information System, is a permanent body dedicated to research, analysis, evaluation and consultation of tourism in its various forms, through intersectoral and multidisciplinary work to measure and monitor the evolution of tourism activity as well as the variables that affect it.

In Parque Guanajuato Bicentenario (PGB), the Minister of Tourism highlighted that, out of the 24 Observatories in the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Guanajuato is the only state in Mexico recognized as an official venue.

Sharing the OTEG Measurement Model has been successful in strengthening good practices in measuring tourism both in the country and in the world. In addition, the secretary told the members that in this year a collaboration agreement has been signed with Panama, Zacatecas, Chiapas, Guerrero, Tabasco, and Sonora.
