Small Projects Taking Root

The Midday Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende is taking a lead role in improving the lives of people living in our community.  As many are aware, Midday Rotary’s high profiled projects include Escuela de Education Especial de San Miguel de Allende, our mobile library, dry composting toilets, and water harvesting projects.

We will be sharing more information on these very worthwhile projects in upcoming meetings.  But this week, we’re very excited to tell you about our two smaller but nonetheless important projects that are taking root in our community.  These are our involvement with El Pila Secundaria, and the planting of trees throughout San Miguel de Allende.

Nate Fultz

Rotarian and chairman of these two projects is Nate Fultz. On March 19, Nate will present his experiences with creative writing at El Pila Secundario, where students were given the assignment of taking the 4 tenets of the Rotary 4 Way Test and writing an essay on how they are impacting their lives.   Afterward, he will explain how San Miguel is a better place to live by the planting of oxygen and shade-giving trees in 7 different parks. Both of these are small projects, which are taking root in our city.

Join us for this presentation and find out what Rotary is doing for our community and how you might be a part of it.   We’re always looking for new members that are interested in making a difference by service above self.  Meetings take place every Tuesday morning at Cafeteria San Miguel Essen, next to the yellow caboose on Sterling Dickenson.  Doors open at 9 AM with an optional breakfast for $100 pesos per person.  The presentation with Nate Fultz is this Tuesday, March 19th starting at 9:30 AM and, as always, there is no cost to attend.
