A 42-year-old woman of Canadian origin was found dead at an address located in Mexico City’s Roma Norte neighborhood, Cuauhtemoc mayor’s office, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

Alleged investigations report that on October 13, at around 8:20 p.m., the owner of a property called the police, alerting them that a rotten smell was coming out of a house, and the Canadian tenant who was living there was nowhere to be found.

Police officers came to the place, and found the woman in an advanced state of putrefaction, so they notified the death to the corresponding authorities, for the intervention of experts and investigative police, who collected evidence and data from possible witnesses.

The body was transferred to the Forensic Science Institute and the death was notified to the Canadian embassy, in order for them to contact the victim’s family members.

After the discovery, the agent of the Public Ministry of the Territorial Coordination CUH-7 initiated an investigation for the crime of manslaughter for other causes and as part of the investigations activated, following the femicide protocol.
