Guanajuato will hold International Summit of Gastronomy

This edition will be held from June 1 to June 12 in Celaya, Guanajuato, Leon, Salamanca, San Francisco del Rincon, San Miguel de Allende and Silao.

Festivals, competitions, academic activities, workshops, art and samples of traditional and cultural cuisine, will be offered in the International Summit of Gastronomy Guanajuato.

This edition that will be held from June 1 to June 12 in Celaya, Guanajuato, Leon, Salamanca, San Francisco del Rincon, San Miguel de Allende and Silao, will feature Spain, Colombia and Japan as guests of honor, informed The Secretary of State Tourism, Fernando Olivera.

At a press conference, the official said that at this meeting, where 60 thousand attendees are expected, 46 chefs will participate: 10 domestic, 10 international and 26 locals, who will be part of a wide variety of activities.

These activities include the Fourth Meeting of Traditional Cocineras, which will include the game “101 traditional cooks said,” in which contestants will test their knowledge of Mexican cuisine.

“25 cooks from Guanajuato, out of 21 municipalities will participate in this event, each preparing salted and sweet dishes. Campeche, Jalisco, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Guerrero and Mexico City will be guests, and their traditional cooks will participate in this event that becomes an important appointment for all “, said Olivera.

 

Another attraction of this summit is the contest Chefs Guanajuato, which will be held on June 7 and 8 in Leon.

International guests, said Olivera Rocha, will be present as judges, speakers and conferencists.
