Learn to fly in San Miguel

Take over the spectacular Coyote Canyon, the Cañada de la Virgen, the nearby Presa de Allende and, of course, San Miguel de Allende.

Coyote Canyon now offers a special aerial orientation flight that originates from the Aerodomo San Miguel (San Miguel Airport) located just ten minutes from the Parroquia.

The flights are conducted by a US FAA Certified Flight Instructor who has been flying for over 35 years.

When you arrive at Aeródromo San Miguel, you will be given a safety briefing and the opportunity to participate in the important “pre-flight” inspection of the aircraft.

You will then be seated in the cockpit, shown how to operate your personal headset and the safety features of the airplane, and what to expect during the flight. Every student will be given a chance to operate the flight controls (under the instructor’s strict and careful supervision).

At your option, you can visit the nearby towns of Jalpa (southeast of SMA), Dolores Hidalgo and the Santuario de Atotonilco (both northwest of SMA), or the Peña de Bernal (in Queretaro State).

Customized day trips can be made to Morelia, San Luis Potosí, or Zacatecas.

A portion of the proceeds from every paid flight, benefits the “Amigos de la Aviación de San Miguel”, a non-profit organization that promotes aviation, education, and aviation-related economic opportunities in San Miguel and the surrounding region (www.amigosdelaaviacion.com).
