Guanajuato and Japan endorsed their trade bonds in the second “Tournament of the Brotherhood” which was held at the Club Santa Margarita in Irapuato, Guanajuato, almost one month ago, on Sunday June 19.
Governor Miguel Márquez Márquez said that there are 188 companies that have settled in the state, 90 of them are Japanese, 66 of them came during his administration and therefore the twinning through this popular sport among Japanese citizens.
At 9 in the morning, accompanied by his secretaries Guillermo Romero Pacheco (Economic Development), Fernando Olivera Rocha (Tourism) and Irapuato Mayor Ricardo Gutiérrez Ortiz, Marquez came to the meeting.
The delegation was led by the Japanese Consul Yasuhisa Susuki; Keishi Egawa, representative of the Japanese community and Takaichi Koyama, general director of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mexico, Guanajuato Delegation.
During his message, the mayor said that the city of Irapuato holds the state’s largest Japanese community, therefore the importance of maintaining a bond of friendship.
In this second edition of the event (the first was held in Leon on November 2015), 144 people participated, 72 from Mexico and 72 from Japan, all executives from the different Japanese companies installed in Guanajuato.
Four years ago, trade relations between Guanajuato and Japan began to intensify and with installation of 90 companies from this Asian country in the region, the integration between the Japanese and Guanajuatense communities has grown significantly.
Finally, Governor Marquez Marquez espressed his desire to organize the next “Tournament of the Brotherhood” in either Salamanca, Celaya or San Miguel de Allende.
