Queretaro workers the highest paid in the Bajio region

Workers of Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) in the state of Queretaro are the highest paid in the Bajio region, according to the National Survey on Productivity and Competitiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises 2015 (ENAPROCE – Encuesta Nacional sobre Productividad y Competitividad de las Micro, Pequeñas y Medianas Empresas), conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI – Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía).

The average wages for Small and Medium enterprises in general are:

  1. Queretaro  $6,210.88 pesos ($327 USD) per month
  2. Guanajuato is $5,701.22 pesos ($300 USD) per month
  3. Aguascalientes, $5,599.5 pesos ($294.7 USD) per month
  4. San Luis Potosi, $5,412.66 pesos ($284.87 USD) per month

The average wages for companies dedicated to services of research and technological development are:

  1. Guanajuato $8, 697 pesos ($457.73 USD) per month
  2. Aguascalientes, $8, 627 pesos ($454.05 USD) per month
  3. Queretaro $7,750 pesos ($407.89 USD) per month
  4. San Luis Potosi,$ 6, 551 pesos ($344.78 USD) per month

The average wages for small and medium enterprises dedicated to produce transportation equipment are:

  1. Aguascalientes $6, 049 pesos ($318.36 USD) per month
  2. Queretaro  $5, 898 pesos ($310.42 USD) per month
  3. San Luis Potosi $5, 693 pesos ($299.63 USD) per month
  4. Guanajuato is $5, 504 pesos ($289.68 USD) per month

The average wages for the food, beverage, tabaco and candy industry are:

  • Queretaro $5,534 pesos ($291.26 USD) per month
  • Guanajuato $5, 235 pesos ($275.52 USD) per month
  • Aguascalientes $5, 168 pesos ($272 USD)) per month
  • San Luis Potosi $4,384 pesos ($243.55 USD) per month

According to ENAPROCE’s data, the salaries are higher in Queretaro compared to other states in the Bajío region; and the state of San Luis Potosí averages the lowest salaries.
