Downtown San Miguel is the most expensive area in town because most people want to live within walking distance from “el Jardín” and “la Catedral” when they first arrive. Also because most of the major restaurants, trendy shops, bars and businesses that people like are located in “Centro“.
A two-bedroom, two-bathroom home in the Centro costs about $1,300 USD a month, not including utilities and it might be furnished or semi-furnished. If you move a couple of miles away from Centro, the same house would rent for probably $700 or $800 USD a month.

If you are planning to move to San Miguel, yo can rent a big house in the outskirts of San Miguel de Allende, three stories with five bedrooms and three bathrooms, a swimming pool and a yard for $800 USD a month (not furnished and bills not included).
If you rent something downtown it would be more expensive but it won’t be as expensive as in the US or Canada obvioulsy. Many Americans, Canadians, and Europeans live at beautiful properties that are a 5-minute drive away from downtown, in order to save a few hundreds in monthly rent, and end up discovering that it is more quiet and peaceful than being one block away from “El Jardin“.
The traffic around San Miguel is really relaxed. You could be on the road and see horses, mules, donkeys, sheep, or even a bunch of turkeys at a certain point.
There are a lot of organic farms around San Miguel too, so you could have a lot of organic meals as well as fresh fruits and vegetables every single day at an affordable cost.
But, if you are looking for a fully furnished, ready to live in, gorgeous property in the most exclusive part of town, with a breathtaking view of “Centro” from your terrace, look no further, just click here and see for yourself…
