On August 2, the Governor of Guanajuato, Miguel Marquez Marquez received the delegation of entrepreneurs from the “Japanese National Chamber of Commerce and Industry” integrated by 25 members, who are interested in developing several industrial areas, such as automotive, aerospace, electronics and educational in order to consolidate further investments for Guanajuato.
In this regard, Marquez Marquez explained: “The goal is to bring more foreign companies to the state of Guanajuato. The members of the Japanese National Chamber of Commerce and Industry will make a 3-day tour around the state, visiting different companies, educational institutions and local coordinating councils. Some of the investors arrive this way, and others, such as Toyota, arrive on their own, and all contribute to bring more supply companies to our state”.
Marquez also noted that around 90 companies from Japan have come to settle down in Guanajuato during the last four years (70 of them during his administration), impacting the local economy in a positive way in terms of revenue and employment. Besides, according to data from INEGI, more than 45,000 new jobs have been created so far this year in the state of Guanajuato.
“The current industrial development in our state, is a result of the collaboration between Japanese companies and the government of Guanajuato. We are talking about a 9 billion US dollars investment, mainly in “auto industry” the governor continued.

Meanwhile, Tokuichi Okaya, vice-president of the Japanese National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, declared: “we are interested in the economic development of the state and therefore, we are requesting the state government: trade facilities and resources that maintain the bilateral relations between Guanajuato, Mexico and Nagoya, Japan.
Okaya concluded extending an invitation to the Governor, Miguel Marquez Marquez to participate in the upcoming Nagoya International Trade Fair, in Japan (that will take place October 20-21); where he can take advantage of the trip to visit other prefectures and provinces because that region features one of the leading supplier facilities for Toyota, Lexus and Mitsubishi.
