69 people injured after collision in the SMA-Querétaro highway

On Wednesday August 31, at 7:28 pm an accident occurred close to “Los Rodriguez” in the San Miguel de Allende-Queretaro Federal Highway.

A total of 69 people were injured, five of them seriously, in a multiple traffic collision, where two passenger buses, a pick-up truck and a Volkswagen Jetta were involved.

Emergency System of the State of Guanajuato reported that 21 injured people were transported by ambulance to IMSS Unit 39 General Hospital, as well as to a private hospital in San Miguel.

People seriously injured

5 people suffered severe injuries, 10 more showed moderate conditions and the rest of passengers only have minor injuries.

A bus of the company “Pegasso” that was heading to San Miguel de Allende, a Pick Up, an urban transportation bus and a compact car were involved in this car accident.

According to a preliminary report, a pick-up truck stormed out of the Cañajo community into the highway lanes, in front of the “Pegasso” passenger bus crashing against it and making it capsize; another bus that was behind the “Pegasso” hit the breaks and was impacted by another vehicle at high speed.
