Crime does not pay, and even less away from home

During 2015, according to the State Attorney General’s Office, 349 criminal acts were committed by foreigners from 50 different nationalities in Guanajuato.

In 84.50% of cases the accused were men and 14.50% were women, reveals a document held by UN1ÓN.

The nationalities of foreigners, who committed crimes across Guanajuato, are:

  • 22% from United States
  • 19% from Honduras
  • 64% from Nicaragua
  • 81% of Japanese nationality.

Although the Attorney General did not specify what crimes they have committed, it disclosed that among the most common crimes commited by foreigners are damages, injuries, theft, threats, fraud, plunder, abuse of trust, defamation, and forgery, among others.

28% of these convected criminals are between 21 and 30 years old, followed by a 21% that are between 31 and 40 years of age.

Other the various nationalities of people that have committed crimes in Guanajuato are Afghan, German, Arabic, Argentinian, Bolivian, Canadian, Czech, Chilean, Chinese, Korean, Cuban, Egyptian, Slovakian, Dutch, Italian, Israeli, Jamaican, Lebanese, and Lithuanian.
