Guanajuato and Michoacán to sign bilateral security agreement

Governor Miguel Marquez Marquez announced on Monday September 19, that a Regional Security Agreement will be signed between the states of Michoacán and Guanajuato, in a matter of days.

“In just a few days, we will be signing an agreement in order to work together for the benefit of Michoacán and Guanajuato,” said the governor.

“The proposal was sent by General Pedro Felipe Gurrola Ramírez, XII Military Zone Commander, and it is being analyzed by the respective authorities,” declared Marquez who attended the First Government Report of Silvano Aureoles Conejo, governor of Michoacán.

Marquez Marquez pointed out that he is aware of the great effort to combat the different criminal groups in the state of Michoacán, during the first year of the Auroles’ administration.

Finally, the governor of Guanajuato declared that both state governments are working in safety issues, and concluded that this regional agreement is absolutely necessary in order to boost the tourism industry in both Guanajuato and Michoacán.
