The 1st International Film Festival Celaya (FICC) kicks off on November

Celaya, Gto. – From November, Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26, the 1st Edition of the International Film Festival Celaya (FICC) will take place at the premises of “Casa de la Cultura”.

On Sept. 18, during a press conference, Montserrat Vega, FICC’s General Director; Eugenio Leon, Public Relations Coordinator and Hector Ortega, Guest Film Makers Director, presented the details of this new festival in Celaya and announced that Colombia will be the guest country for the first edition of this event.

During the Festival, four conferences and workshops will take place, along with a film exhibition and an open invitation short film competition (deadline Sept. 29).

Other activities such as production, photography and editing master classes will also be held.

Additionally, Film Director, Isaac Montesinos who is originally from Celaya, Guanajuato and is currently recognized within the film industry as one of the best Mexican cinematographers, will be featuring his work.

The film “The nightingale and night” will be the feature presentation, as part of the festival opening, and for the closing ceremony, the Colombian Film “The embrace of the snake”, will be presented. This movie is actually nominated for an Oscar, as best foreign film category.

An attendance of 2 thousand people is expected for the first edition of this international film festival.
