38 thousand liters of fuel and stolen property seized by police in Guanajuato

After a series of raids, four properties, more than 38,000 liters of gasoline along with equipment and tools used for illegal tapping of oil pipelines were secured by law enforcement authorities in the state of Guanajuato.

Merchandise ransacked from trains and stolen vehicles were also confiscated.

The police operations were carried out in the municipalities of Valle de Santiago, Villagrán, Salamanca and Celaya, in a state and federal authorities collaborative task.

The attorney general of Guanajuato reported that in Valle de Santiago, police officers found 10,000 liters of gasoline for illegal sale, two motor-pumps and hoses for extraction; and three stolen vehicles, white 2006 Nissan with theft report; green Chevrolet Trailblazer, and gray Dodge Caravan, both with altered identification numbers.

In Villagran, they found three stolen vehicles, 2015 Ford Super Duty F-450; 2001 semi-dismantled Chevrolet Chevy; 2014 red Pontiac Grand Prix; an Italika motocross type motorcycle; and 200 steel rods looted from train boxcars.

In Salamanca, they found several containers storing 28,200 liters of illegally extracted gasoline and two motor pumps. Three vehicles allegedly used to transport the stolen fuel, a 2002 Chevrolet red pick-up truck; a Kenworth tractor with altered identification number; and a 2003 Nissan pick-up truck, with theft report.

Finally, in Celaya, police officers secured an Isuzu refrigerated truck recently reported stolen; a Ford Ranger stolen in Queretaro; a semi-dismantled old model Datsun; and one Italika motorcycle.
