Café Rama, the perfect spot for a business breakfast or drinks with friends

On my last business trip to beautiful San Miguel de Allende, I made several appointments with different people to meet for breakfast. It was pretty surprising to see that not one or two, but three of them asked to meet at Cafe Rama!

The first day I had scrambled eggs with hash brown potatoes and toast; on my second day I had the Florentine eggs, a specialty of the house; and on my third visit to Cafe Rama, I had a lox, cream cheese and capers bagel that reminded me of Russ & Daughters on Houston Street NYC! It was out of this world.

My last day in San Miguel I stopped by Cafe Rama around 6 pm with a couple of friends that own property around the San Miguel/Dolores Hidalgo area, and we sipped a couple of drinks on the table they have outside, enjoying the weather and the nice conversation.

It is worth mentioning that, Chef and owner Jaime Shelley, was always around taking care of business and making sure that every single customer receives an excellent attention and service.

I really recommend all San Miguel Times readers to follow this wise piece of advice and go to Cafe Rama for a business breakfast or drinks with friends, I guarantee you won’t regret it.

Next to the Rosewood Hotel just outside the center of town, Cafe Rama is one of the most popular spots with San Miguel’s visitors and resident expats.

With mismatched furniture and the contemporary art on the walls (much of which is for sale) it’s heading in the direction of trendy, but the food remains reasonably priced.

Good coffee, a wide selection of teas, and classics such as eggs Florentine make it an excellent option for breakfast, while the evening menus offer something to suit all tastes.

Open until midnight, Cafe Rama also keeps a well-stocked bar with a long list of cocktails to choose from.
