According to Mexico based newspaper “El Financiero”,“Mexico Retail Properties (MRP) group” breaks ground in León, Guanajuato for “City Park Shopping Center” which will become the largest shopping mall in the Bajío region.
The first stone was set in place for the new largest mall in the Bajio region at a ceremony held on Wednesday, November 23rd, and attended by Mexican government authorities, and company management.
The new shopping center features 75,000 square meters of Commercial Gross Prof Area (ABR), 20,000 square meters for offices and a 44 storey tower with 300 luxury apartments in a first stage.
“Apple Store” will open its second point of sale in Mexico within this mall.

Around 400 million US dollars will be invested for the development of this housing / corporative / commercial / recreational center, the first of its kind throughout the region.
Currently, “Plaza Antea” in Querétaro is the most important shopping mall along the region, with a commercial Gross Prof Area (ABR) of 50,000 square meters.
Carlos Real, Vice-president of MRP group explained: “What we are looking for this new concept is to integrate a mix-used development, which offers a micro-city with several features, such as different sizes of apartments within an extensive commercial area”.

The construction process will begin in February next year.
At least 3,000 direct and indirect jobs will be generated during the development of this project, and 7,000 permanent jobs will be created, when “City Park” opens its doors.
“We are including new brands; that currently have no presence in the city in order to satisfy the local consumers’ demand,” explained Carlos Aparicio, MRP’s Commercial Director.
According to the executive, “City Park” will host new stores, such as Palacio de Hierro, Guess, Calvin Klein, Forever 21 and Apple store among others.

This world-class project is financed through financial instruments known as CDKs, that are placed on the Mexican Stock Exchange, and the complex is expected to be fully operational and open to the public by the fall of 2019.
In a second stage, two additional towers are projected to be developed for residential housing. However, no further details were provided.
By 2017, the company has contemplated the construction of 16 more complexes, 5 of them would be located in Mexico City and the rest in other states of the country.

THE SECOND APPLE STORE OF MEXICO
According to Carlos Real, Vice-president of MRP group, “City Park shopping mall” will be the headquarters of the second Apple store in Mexico (the first branch is located in the “Vía Santa Fe” within Centro Santa Fe Mall, Mexico City).
Other 6 points of sale are planned to open its doors in the next two years, faturing the state-of-the-art technology, that distinguishes this company throughout the world.

“This will be the second branch of Apple Store in Mexico with the full concept, (the first in the Bajío area), and it is not a franchise, in fact it will be managed directly by Apple,” Real said.
According to the Vice-president of MRP group, they have been working closely with Apple representatives, in order to close the deal to open this new store, as part of the new complex in 2019.
