Guanajuato: inspiration that dresses in fashion

Today, Thursday November 10, “November Fashion Month in Guanajuato” kicks off as an initiative promoted by the Secretariat of Guanajuato’s Sustainable Economic Development, whose goal is to boost the Fashion Cluster in the city of León, that features textiles, clothing, jewelery, hats, leather-footwear, leather goods, designers, suppliers and fashion related items all integrated on a global concept.

Currently, Guanajuato is developing a strategy to promote fashion and design as key elements for competitiveness, since the activities that sustain these added value operations, have a high potential to be successful and more profitable.

The Fashion and Design Contest “Creare” and Fimoda’s exhibition will be featuring during November, the Fashion Month in Guanajuato.

As part of the tenth anniversary of “Creare”, a new space for professional designers and students with attractive proposals to display their work, will have presence this year under the theme: “Explorers of the Future”.

The competition has enrolled more than 1,600 students and professional designers, and will award the most outstanding proposals in the following categories: lady’s handbag, men’s footwear, women’s footwear, women’s clothing, men’s clothing. This 10 year-old contest and its fashion showcase is one of the most important in Mexico.

Anna Fusoni, one of the most important promoters of this event declared: “Creáre allows professional designers who want to develop their own brands and products to start a training process in order to stand out in the Fashion Industry at a state and national level”.

Fimoda is the most important Fashion Industry Fair in Guanajuato, it is a State Government’s strategy that seeks to boost the commercialization of local clothing companies, through the projection of their brands and the increase of sales, in addition to create awareness of the ultimate trends in the industry.

With the aim of promoting the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the textile-clothing, Leather Footwear and Leather Goods sectors, this space is opened to fashion industry buyers and exhibitors, who will have the opportunity to make new business connections and contact specialized customers and suppliers.
