26-year-old France Ruth Ibarra Ramirez, was killed and her body dissolved in caustic soda and muriatic acid, confirmed sources close to the investigation.
A forensics investigation showed that the skeletal remains found on the roof of a building in León, belong to Ruth Ibarra. Suspect Emmanuel Valdés Bocanegra lives in that building, and according to local authorities, he was the last person to see her alive.
The DNA found at the scene of the crime was compatible with the samples provided by Ruth’s relatives, who reported her missing since Saturday, December 3.
As Ruth was reported missing, Emmanuel Valdés became the main suspect of kidnapping, and now he is wanted for murder.
On Wednesday December 14, Valdés was located in the State of Mexico, as a result of an investigation carried out by the Attorney General’s Office.
Agents from Immediate Response Special Group (Grupo Especial de Respuesta Inmediata), along with an intelligence group from the Attorney General’s Office were expecting to capture him in León, but he managed to flee the state.
The facts
France Ruth Ibarra Ramírez, a resident of “Los Naranjos”, left her home in the early morning hours of Saturday December 3, and headed to the Language Center of the University of Guanajuato, located in Leon’s downtown area.
Ruth was supposed to meet a friend at 1 pm, to go to the movies at “Centro Max” cinema, but she never made the appointment and her phone was turned off. For several days the girl remained missing and her relatives finally filed the report.
France Ruth was last seen at 26-year-old medical student Emmanuel Valdés Bocanegra’s apartment, located at number 103 of building 101, on “Loma de San Vicente” street, in the neighborhood of “San Isidro”.
Carrying a search warrant, agents of the Public Prosecutor’s Office inspected the apartment and other parts of the building, on Saturday December 10. They found a bag with Ruth’s clothing, and when they searched the roof, they found several black plastic bags containing human bones, along with bottles of caustic soda and muriatic acid, allegedly used to dissolve the girl’s body.
Emmanuel Valdés Bocanegra’s father, who is a chemical engineer, gave his statement and reported that his son was missing.
