Guanajuato lights on 350 new LED streetlights

GUANAJUATO, Gto.- Governor Miguel Márquez Marquez led the lighting ceremony, where at least  350 new streetlights with led certification were lit, as part of the rehabilitation program carried out in more than 14 km of the “Panoramica Highway”, with an investment of 6.5 million pesos (325 thousand USD).

This work benefits more than 171,000 residents from the “San Javier”, “Carrizo”, “Presa de la Olla”, “Cerro de los Leones” and “Hormiguero” communities.

Arturo Durán Miranda, Public Works State Secretary, said that the works have a 30% advance, and he expects that all the cleaning, lighting and maintenance labors will be completed by February 2017.

Márquez Marquez said: “These road have must e preserved in good conditions. These lamps are less contaminating and feature less energy consumption for the municipality “.

The Governor added that the commitment is to improve the lighting system of several other communitites such as “Euquerio Guerrero”, “Marfil”,  Silao, Pueblito de Rocha and others.

The total investment will amount more than 30 million pesos (1.5 million USD).
