“Property sale increases 28% in SMA” Mayor Ricardo Villarreal

Property sales in San Miguel de Allende increased about 28% compared to last year.

This was announced by Mayor Ricardo Villarreal on Wednesday December 28, after meeting with members of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI) that operate within the municipality.

“The property market in San Miguel de Allende has been favored with the growth of the tourism sector in our city,” he said.

In 2015 properties were sold for an average value of 3.6 million pesos ($180,000 USD), compared to 2016, when the average value went up to 4.6 million pesos ($230,000 YSD), according to information obtained from official public deeds.

“We had a growth of almost 28%, consistent with the percentage of visitors; no doubt that San Miguel continues to be considered as one of the best cities to live in the world, our beloved colonial town is generating more and more confidence worldwide, not only with travelers but also with investors who come to San Miguel, decide they want to move here and buy a house, ” said the mayor.
