Citizen Involvement in Community Issues

At a time when many believe others should solve our problems, a new nonprofit organization, Observatorio Ciudadano de los Sanmiguelenses, A.C., seeks to confront actual problems through active citizen participation.

This organization is a tool to empower citizens and influence the public sector through legal, transparent consensus decision making focused on community service.

It was established due to the urgency caused by explosive development in the areas of tourism, urban planning, traffic and transportation, and environmental contamination, all of which influence the quality of life of San Miguel’s citizens.

Come to Rotary Tuesday, January 10, to hear about this organization’s objectives, challenges, and advances from Businessman Gerardo Aguilera, Architect Sara Ena Hernandez, and Notaria Publica Raquel Arroyo. The presentation will be free and in English.

Rotary unites neighbors, community leaders and global citizens for the common good. For more information, contact President Nate Fultz at nwfultz@yahoo.com and see RotarySMAMidday.org.
