During a press conference, Fernando Olivera Rocha, Guanajuato’s Secretary of Tourism declared: “We are ready for the “Three Wise Men Cavalcade”, that  will bring smiles, joy and enchantment to all children in our state, from 5 to 7 January in Irapuato, Guanajuato”.

In its 42nd edition, the cavalcade will cover 7.4 kilometers, with the presentation of 25 floats, 16 sections on foot, 10 units on horseback, 10 more on motorcycle with a total of 1,200 participants, who have been rehearsing and preparing this wonderful parade for one year.

In Irapuato, this event is already a big tradition that aims to give faith, hope and illusion to all children and their families.

The floats will recreate scenes from the Bible, featuring magic, music, color and tradition.

Melchior, Gaspar and Balthasar will lead the parade and then will help the children to send up the balloons that carry their letters.

Olivera Rocha invited the Magi to acquire Mexican popular toys for the children, because our society needs to maintain its traditions and support the local artisans who make their living and support their families through the “Corazón de Guanajuato” program .

750 thousand people are expected to attend the celebration, who will able to enjoy the parade, which will start at 7 pm on Thursday January 5th, departing from the “Ex Parque de Béisbol”, continuing along “Calzada de los Chinacos”, heading to the “Glorieta del Caballo, Av. Lázaro Cárdenas, Av. Guerrero, Av. Revolución, Alvaro Obregón Street, Manuel Doblado Street, Blvd. Torres Landa, Blvd. Díaz Ordaz” and arriving to the “San Juan Bosco” (Francisco Sarabia) Temple at around 10:30 p.m.

Also, the Cavalcade of Magi will be broadcasted live on local TV Channel 4, and through the municipality of Irapuato social network platforms.

It is important to emphasize that the social work of the “Cabalgata de Reyes” not only covers the route across the main streets of Irapuato, as also the Magi will visit several hospitals and orphanages throughout the city, to deliver gifts to the children there.

The members of the board of the Patronage of the Kings Parade of Irapuato A.C. (Patronato del Desfile de Reyes de Irapuato A.C.) Rafael Alfaro Arredondo, President; María del Carmen Rodríguez de Alfaro; Ricardo Maldonado Vázquez; José Luis Ruvalcaba; Marco Antonio Vanzzini and Sergio González Águila attended the press conference.
