German culture promoted in Irapuato, Guanajuato

With traditional events such as “Oktoberfest Irapuato”, and the creation of the “German College of the Bajio” (Colegio Alemán del Bajío), scientist and researcher Alex Tiessen Favier seeks to promote German culture in the city of Irapuato.

Born to German parents in the city of Guadalajara, the researcher of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados: Cinvestav) has been living in Irapuato for eight years with his wife and children. He considers himself a citizen committed to the development of the local community.

As President of the German School of the Bajío Civil Association, Tiessen Favier supports the development of Irapuato, assuring that, with the creation of this new center of studies more investments will arrive from this European country .

He emphasized that the German College of the Bajío will have a bicultural (Germany-Mexico) and trilingual (German, Spanish and English) approach, which is aimed at providing students with the best quality education, following the same high quality standards as the German institutions in Puebla, Mexico City and Guadalajara .

Moving to Irapuato

Although he was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Sergio Arturo Preciado Pimentel feels like “Irapuatense”, because after moving to this municipality, he feels that there is no better place to live and establish.

Sergio Arturo decided to live in Irapuato due to short transfer distances, job opprotunities and economic growth.

He studied Communications at the University of León 7 years ago, and works at the Social Security Institute of the State of Guanajuato (ISSEG).

“When I first arrived to Irapuato, the city was smaller, but lately, the economic development is evident, investments are being made so there are many sources of employment, besides the strategic geographic location of the city is a big advantage” , he said.

Sergio Arturo recommends Irapuato as a place to live and start businesses, he is convinced that the economic growth of this city will bring more job opportunities for its residents.
