GUANAJUATO, Gto. (OEM-Informex) .- Five African countries are now part of the export destinations for products from Celaya, Irapuato and Silao, worth more than 99 thousand US dollars, reported the Coordinator of Trade Promotion Exterior in the State of Guanajuato (Coordinadora de Fomento al Comercio Exterior, Cofoce),
On the year 2016, the total exports reached 19.6 billion USD, exporting several products such as tires, shampoo, hair preparations, organic chemicals, insecticides and perfumery oils to markets in countries such as Chad, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Anguilla and the Comoros in Africa, as well as Reunion Island, located in France.
The COFOCE highlighted that some of the new products that Guanajuato has managed to export to these African nations are sunflower, safflower or cotton oils, cisterns, engines, tractors, rubber pipes, among others.
Guanajuato has more than 1,100 exporters who employ more than 176,155 people in the automotive sector: auto parts, electrical appliances and suppliers, as well as in the agro-food industry.
