28 confirmed cases of Influenza in Querétaro

QUERÉTARO, Qro. January 16, 2017.- In Querétaro, the first death from influenza was recorded on Monday January 9, according to the health secretary Alfredo Gobera Farro.

Gobera detailed that an 86-year-old man from the municipality of Colón died one week ago and added that there are already 28 confirmed cases of influenza this year, which are under control though.

“80 percent of the infected are older adults, although there are three cases of children under six to eight months of age” he underlined.

The head of the state’s Ministry of Health indicated that out of the 28 cases of influenza, 13 are located in the state capital, Corregidora and San Juan del Rio, and the rest are disseminated throughout the entity.

Gobera Farro concluded saying that 80 percent of the total of 450,000 influenza vaccines have been already admnistered.
