The Irapuato’s Municipal Direction of Tourism seeks to attract more tourism for 2017, with the goal of training specialized tourist operators in order to make them capable to provide professional attention to travelers visiting Irapuato, in addition to promoting the 9 tourist products offered throughout the city.
Guadalupe González, Irapuato’s Director of Tourism stated that they have a budget of 1.6 million pesos (74 thousand US) for this purpose in 2017.
“During 2016, at least 3,100 people visited the touristic routes, and we are expecting an increase of at least 10% for this year on this figure,” Gonzalez underlined.
Guadalupe González concluded: “We are expecting the arrival of new important hotel firms, some of them have already opened in our city, therefore the number of rooms is going to increase this year, and we are facing a very important challenge. We have to work with all tourist providers in order to join efforts”
