The team took first place in the “Hurocup Wall Climbing category”; also first place in the “Best student trajectory”, for Ruth Alejandra Suárez Rivera; the first place in “Best Scientific Article by a student”; and fourth place in “Hurocup Long Jump”.

Ricardo Pérez Soto, Team Coordinator, said: “We obtained the first place with a robot developed 100% at University of Queretaro’s Faculty of Engineering”.

“In this competition, the robot must climb a ladder, but has to be totally autonomous. Using a vision system, the robot calculates the height of each step as it climbs. Apparently we broke the record this year”, Pérez Soto added.

With the same robot, the Autonomous University of Queretaro team won the fourth place in the long jump competition. This higher education institution has been participating in this international competition since the year 2013.
