15 gas tanker trucks confiscated in Guanajuato

On Tuesday February 14, the State Coordination of the Federal Police based in the state of Guanajuato and officers of the Mexican Army carried out an operation in the community of “Mandujano“, municipality of “Apaseo el Alto”, where they seized fifteen LP gas tanker trucks reported as stolen in the states of Jalisco, Guanajuato and the state of Mexico. This type of motor vehicles are designed to carry liquefied loads.

“This operation has brought great results, we are currently working to dismantle several gangs; and precisely today another detention took place here,” said Miguel Angel Simental, commissioner of the Federal Police in Guanajuato.

It should be noted that more than 50 officers participated in this security operation.

A Federal Police patrol detected 15 tanker trucks suspiciously abandoned in the streets “Miguel Hidalgo”, “18 de Marzo” and “5 de Febrero” in the community of “Mandujano”.

The law enforcement agents inspected each and every vehicle, and then found that fifteen fuel tank trucks were reported as stolen in different states, and noticed that the series number of some of these vehicles had been modified.

So far, authorities believe that these trucks were used to transport stolen fuel from Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) pipelines in the area.

Finally, the 15 vehicles were taken to the Special Prosecutor Office for Stolen Vehicles (Fiscalía Especializada en Robo de Vehículos) of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in Celaya, Guanajuato.
