Aeronautical personnel to be trained at Universidad Aeronáutica de Querétaro

“Aeronautics University in Querétaro (Universidad Aeronáutica de Querétaro, UNAQ) will offer courses for students aiming to get an aeronautical federal license, starting this year’s third quarter”, said the rector Jorge Gutiérrez de Velasco Rodríguez.

In an interview, the academic official said that as a result of a study conducted by the aforementioned institution, they detected the need to provide aviation training courses for these kind of specialized operators.

“We specifically analyze our competencies and we have a very interesting proposal, in addition to being one of the few institutions that have aircrafts to practice on board for this type of training, which gives us a competitive advantage,” he said.

Currently the UNAQ has 10 aircrafts, 2 Boeing 737 that are used for practice.

It is worth mentioning that, we will offer these courses not only in Queretaro, but in different Mexican states.

The course will be held from August 21 to October 30, 2017 (10 weeks duration) and with a price of approximately 28,000 pesos (1,400 USD).

The applicant has to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Psychophysical Evaluation
  • Medical Examination
  • Make the payments before the Directorate General of Aeronautics (DGAC),
  • Being 18 years old
  • High school (Preparatoria) Diploma
  • Proper Aptitude

“So far there are four commercial airlines interested in training their staff at our institution”, said Gutiérrez de Velasco Rodríguez.

“We provide courses on the following specialities: aeronautical environment, aerodynamics, metrology, and aeronautical regulation, transport of dangerous goods, technical requirements, emergency procedures, first aid, general provisions and service on board, aeronautical technical English, safety, English and French aeronautical technician”.
