Gerónimo Guitiérrez was sworn in as new Ambassador of Mexico to the U.S.

On Thursday, February 23, Gerónimo Guitiérrez Fernández was sworn in as Ambassador of Mexico to the U.S. before the Plenum of the Mexican Senate.

Gerónimo Gutiérrez has been endorsed by 80 votes in favor, 5 dissenting votes and one abstention.

Most of the senators of the differing political benches gave their vote of confidence to Mexico’s new diplomatic representative to the U.S. amidst the complex scenario of the current Mexico-U.S. relations.

Gerónimo Gutiérrez thanked the Mexican Senate and expressed his willingness to work with president Peña Nieto and Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray in a twitter post:
