According to Mexico City’s major newspaper “El Universal”, U.S. citizens based in Mexico City protested outside the U.S. embassy to express their concern for Trump’s racist and xenophobic rhetoric towards Mexican immigrants on Thursday, February 23.

Among them, Ralston Darlington, from the Mexican Chapter of Democrats Abroad, who said that they are concerned about the “bully” treatment of U.S. president, Donald Trump, against Mexican immigrants.

Mrs. Keat decided to protest alongside her daughter to place on record that many U.S. citizens are discontent with president Trump’s politics.

Around 2,000 people signed a letter addressed to U.S. Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson to express their dissent towards Trump’s racist rhetoric, as well as to the White House politics regarding the bilateral trade relation with Mexico, in the occasion of Tillerson’s first official visit to our country.

Tillerson, alongside Secretary of Homeland Security Department, John Kelly, met with Mexican Minister of Interior, Miguel Ángel Chong, Foreign Minister, Luis Videgaray, Defense Minister, General Salvador Cienfuegos and Minister of Finance and Public Credit, José Antonio Meade to discuss immigration, trade and security in the first official work meetings held between Mexico and the new U.S. administration.
