Police officer kills man who tried to steal cell phone in Irapuato

The Guanajuato’s Attorney General’s Office of Justice (PGJE) announced that, a thief was shot in Irapuato, Guanajuato, when he attempted to steal the cell phones of two police officers.

According to the official statement, the incident took place at the corner of “Siembra and Juan Aldama streets”, in Irapuato’s “San Juan de Retana” neighborhood. When a man on a motorcycle, approached the patrol car, threatened the policemen at gun point, and demanded them to surrender their cell phones.

One of the police officers got out of the car, fired his weapon and was shot by the aggressor. The thief, was shot on the chest and died almost instantly.

When the law enforcement officers checked the man’s belongings, they found three cell phones that had been allegedly stolen earlier that same day.
