LEÓN, Gto. — Gregory Andrews Moore was assigned as U.S. Honorary Consul in Guanajuato, to carry out the proper activities to support Americans who reside in this state.
The headquarters will be located in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende and it will have circumscription in the localities of Irapuato, Salamanca, Celaya and Valle de Santiago.
The authorization was circulated through the Federation Official Gazette on Monday March 27, reporting that this agreement was made and authorized by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Luis Videgaray Caso in Mexico City, approving the appointment of Gregory Andrews as American Honorary Consul, who will play an important role and do several tasks in five municipalities of Guanajuato state.
The request of this appointment was made by the United States Ambassador in Mexico, Roberta S. Jacobson, through a diplomatic note sent on February 22 for the assignation of Gregory Andrews Moore. (It also was published in the Official Gazette after approval processes).
According to the Mexican Official Gazette, the U.S. ambassador in Mexico issued in favor of Mr. Gregory Andrews Moore. The definitive authorization was granted him, so he may carry out the diplomatic functions at the office in San Miguel of Allende. That is in the consular district which includes Irapuato, Salamanca, Celaya and Valle de Santiago.
Currently, the state of Guanajuato is home of one consular agency (out to nine) from the United States in México, which are linked to the American consulate in Mexico City, due to the large number of Americans who mainly live in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende.
