“The Mummies of Guanajuato” attract thousands of tourists during Easter Holidays

Guanajuato, Gto — “During the Easter week,  the Mummy Museum of Guanajuato (Museo de las Momias de Guanajuato) had an influx of more than 30,000 people, and more than 20,000 visitors are expected to turn up during next week, consolidating this place among the most visited museums in the country”, stated Paloma Robles Lacayo, Director of this museum.

The official mentioned that “the visitors came from different countries and Mexican states, mostly from Mexico City” and also said that “the Museum worked at full capacity from Friday 14 to and Sunday 16 April”.

In fact, street vendors who offer “charamuscas”, typical sweets and local handicrafts considered that these holidays have been one of the best time for tourism in the city for years.

“During Holy Week 2016, the museum reached record figures, but this year the extraordinary and impressive number of tourists could brake last year’s record” Robles Lacayo underlined.
