Querétaro — On April 18, Francisco Domínguez Servién, Governor of Querétaro, reported that during the first quarter of this year, 22,720 new jobs were generated, which represents an increase of 12.46 percent in relation to the same period last year.
“Despite to worldwide conditions, there are good news for Querétaro: At least 22,720 jobs have been created as a result to policies carried out by the government along with social organizations, allowing investors, industrial leading companies and entrepreneurs to establish here, in Querétaro, according to data from January to March 2017”
Those figures represents an increase of 12.46 percent over in the same period last year, and the Mexican Social Security Institute (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, IMSS) reports 6,383 additional jobs, in relation to March 2016, resulting in a total of 529, 464 insured workers in the state.
Domínguez Servién stressed that Querétaro is economically growing twice as much as the rest of the country (4.6% compared with the average nationwide), placing the state on fifth place, just below Baja California Sur, Tlaxcala and Quintana Roo.
Finally, the Governor said that according to data from IMSS, in February 2017 the salary’s average is about $364.41 pesos per day, which is 2.3% higher last month, and places Queretaro as the third highest in México, just below Mexico City and Campeche.
