Two destinations, one big adventure

Starting on Friday, March 31, the cities of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato and Los Cabos, Baja California Sur are sister cities.

The mayor of San Miguel, Ricardo Villarreal and the municipal president of Los Cabos, Arturo de la Rosa, signed the agreement that will make this twinning possible, and that will allow these two world-class tourist destinations to share and combine cultural attractions with beach travel, history with natural landscapes and colonial cobblestone streets with deep sea fishing and scuba diving.

In this sense, the members of the San Miguel Tourism Board and the “Cabo de Los Cabos” Tourism Trust signed a Collaboration Agreement to strengthen the hotel sector and the exchange of travelers between these two cities.

During the Tianguis Turistico 2017, the president of the Association of Hotels and Motels of San Miguel de Allende, Laura Torres Septién and the president of the Association of Hotels and Motels of Los Cabos, Enrique Montes de Oca Turcott presided the agreement signing ceremony, having as witness the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, Fernando Olivera Rocha and Baja California Sur Secretary of Tourism, Luis Genaro Ruiz Hernández.

This agreement will complement the tourist promotion between both destinations and will result in various activities such as training for Tourism First Contact Staff (personnel that has the first hand contact with high level tourists), and also in the exchanging of best tourism practices between both destinations.
