Air carrier Volaris continues expanding Guanajuato-U.S. flights

Volaris currently operates a total of 164 flights in direction to the U.S., seventh of which departure from the state of Guanajuato. Now, Volaris adds a new flight between León, Guanajuato and Ontario, California.

In an interview, Fernando Olivera Rocha, State’s Secretary of Tourism, said: “A big number of Mexican nationals and mexican-Americans with relatives in our state live in that area of the United States. Therefore, Volaris took the decision to launch this new flight to connect both regions”.

Olivera continued: “In that sense, we are working in collaboration with that company to promote our destination through different strategies such as the launching of this new air route that will provide thousands of Guanajuato residents with the opportunity of go to visit their loved relatives that currently reside in the United States”.

“The Mexican company offers customers the best and fastest way to reach the destination of their choice, due to its wide portfolio of routes; as well as its point-to-point model”, mentioned the company through a statement.

Kelly J. Frederick, Director General of the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA), said that “He was very pleased with the opening of the route to León”.

Miguel Aguiñiga, Director of Market Development and Distribution at Volaris, commented that the addition of a non-stop service between León and Ontario demonstrates the company’s commitment to satisfy the need of all costumers.

“With this new route, Volaris reinforces its presence in Southern California, as well as the commitment that we have with all customers in León and Ontario,” concluded Aguiñiga.
