Canadian direct investment keeps growing in Querétaro

QUERÉTARO, Qro – “Certus” Automotive Company, Canadian enterprise specialized on automotive production, has inaugurated its first plant in the Aerotech Industrial Park, municipality of Colón, with an investment of $22 million dollars.

The Canadian company is dedicated to the production of automotive chrome plastic injection parts, with the purpose of providing high-quality decorative engineering solutions, while reducing costs and simplifying processes.

Francisco Domínguez Servién, Governor of Querétaro, indicated that: “With the opening of this plant, 350 new direct jobs have been generated”.

During the inauguration ceremony, Domínguez Servién commented that the arrival of this firm comes as a result of last year’s work tour through Canada.

The official welcomed the company’s executives to the state of Querétaro, which positions the entity as the leader of auto parts at national level.

“Today our state is the national leader in this kind of investments, due to the security and social peace that prevails in Querétaro. We are leaders in job creation nationwide, and our economy is strengthening day by day. Another important point is: the human resources, our women and men have the necessary knowledge and talent to work in these new enterprises,” the Governor emphasized.

Servién continued: “Our ties between Mexico and Canada are being strengthened significantly with these kind of investments, and this is also reflected in our important trade cooperation. As a proof, 80 Canadian companies currently operate in Querétaro, which contributes in its quality and competitiveness in sectors such as automotive and aeronautics.”

“From 1999 until 2017, Querétaro is placed seventh in our country among the states with the greatest Direct Foreign Investment from Canada; Canadian companies will always find open doors in Queretaro during my administration,” Dominguez Servien said.

Domínguez Servién made a call to all Canadian entrepreneurs to generate a synergy to boost both economies, with Canadian production, and Querétaro’s specialized people.

The president of Certus Automotive, Rob Mollenhouer, acknowledged the benefits from Querétaro such as strategic location, logistics and transportation, as some of the main reasons to establish their company here. Finally, he thanked the state and municipal authorities for all their support during the start-up of the company’s operations.
