SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, Gto – On the early morning hours of Sunday May 21, one person died and three other resulted injured during a gunfire attack close to “La Conspiración” boulevard, in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende, reported the State’s Attorney General’s Office (PGJE).
According to the San Miguel’s Ministry of Public Security, a man identified as Abraham Vázquez (aka “El Padre”), died during around 1:30 in the morning, while he and other three women were attacked while aboard a SUV in direction to Querétaro. According to la-prensa.com.mx,”El Padre” was allegedly a well known criminal.
“It was the fifth time that they had been attacked by other criminal groups”, said municipal officers.
The first attack took place on September 30, 2016, when an alleged criminal group opened fire towards “El Padre’s” residence. The second one occurred on November 21, 2016, when a firecracker was detonated at his home, causing only material damages. In the third incident, on January 7, 2017, a Ford Explorer crashed against his front door, and hitmen immediately opened fire against his house.
The fourth occasion took place on February 18, when another firecracker exploded in front of his house.
The injured women were taken to the General Hospital of San Miguel de Allende.
