The Guanajuato state government in collaboration with municipal authorities officially started the public works that will rescue and rehabilitate six boulevards in the city of León, with a total investment of more than $300 million pesos ($15 million USD).
In addition, the head of the state government announced that two other roads in León will be remodeled in the next days, as the works continue on the Leon-Salamanca highway.
“Currently, we are working on the rehabilitation of some of the city’s most important boulevards “Mariano Escobedo”, “San Juan Bosco”, “Hidalgo”, “San Pedro”, “Hermanos Aldama” and “Morelos”. This is part of the program “400 works to improve your life” that was presented three weeks ago”, explained Governor Miguel Márquez Márquez.
Márquez Márquez emphasized: “We work to make the city of León friendlier and more efficient for our families. Therefore, the primary roads of the city urgently need to be rescued, because thousands of people use them every day to go to work”.
It’s worth mentioning that the rehabilitation works benefit more than 250,000 vehicles and hundreds of thousands of public transportation users.
In addition, it was reported that other project is currently ongoing to improve the González Bocanegra Boulevard, in the section known as Tepeyac-Malecón del Río, with 1.2 kilometers in length.
The governor also announced that public tenders will be published this month for the rehabilitation of two other important avenues in Leon:
- The “Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra Boulevard” (specifically at the “Torres Landa-Mariano Escobedo” intersection).
- And the “Vasco de Quiroga Boulevard” (specifically at the “Lopez Mateos-Avenida de los Niños” intersection).
Márquez Márquez concluded mentioning that the construction of the Timoteo Lozano section of the Salamanca-León highway will start soon.
