Guanajuato’s International Gastronomy Summit 2017 will highlight Mexican traditional cuisine

“Today, the Guanajuato’s International Summit Gastronomy is one of the most important gastronomic events nationwide, and it represents an economic impact of $72 million pesos ($3.6 million USD), for the state economy. More than 80,000 people are expected to attend the event this year”, declared the Guanajuato’s Secretary of Tourism.

During the presentation of this important summit in the Federal Secretariat of Tourism headquarters in Polanco, Mexico City; Fernando Olivera Rocha, State Secretary of Tourism, explained: “Nine municipalities of the state of Guanajuato, six Mexican states and 12 countries will participate in this year’s edition, featuring an enormous gastronomic offer for locals and visitors alike, from May 30 to June 11, 2017.”

“During the encounter, 33 events and 120 activities along with the participation of prestigious Chefs and traditional cooks will take place in 9 different municipalities of Guanajuato, such as San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Celaya, Irapuato, León, Salamanca, San Francisco del Rincón, Silao and Mineral de Pozos in the municipality of San Luis de la Paz”, said Olivera Rocha.

“A total of 28 restaurants, 18 international and 13 national chefs will be presenting their most famous and exquisite gastronomic delicacies. Besides, 28 Guanajutao native chefs will feature delicious plates elaborated with regional products. All of these experts will take care of the minimum detail in each and every dish,” the Secretary continued.

“And if that was not enough, special guests such as Bety Vázquez, Alfonso Cadena, Dante Ferrero, Abel Hernández, Javier Plascencia, Mónica Solís, Ricardo Muñoz Zurita, Mariano Torre, René Rentería, Amilcar Olivares and Eloir Soto will be the Gastronomic Critics for this occasion”, Olivera Rocha concluded.
