Rotary Double Dips with Trees and Toys

With Rotary’s second annual tree planting coming up at Las Brisas park June 7, their free June 6 presentation will include a speaker about same. In hopes of attracting lots of children to that event, there also will be winners of the La Esquina Childrens Toy Museum story writing contest presenting their stories at 12:30 p.m. at Hotel Mision. The winner and two runners up will be awarded $1,000 and $500 pesos each.

“One of the secrets to writing is to write what you know,” said Rotary President Nate Fultz. “So, each of more than 50 children at El Nigromante elementary school wrote a one-page story about how to make a toy from the toy museum here, which is a treasure of regional handcrafted Mexican toys,” concluded Fultz.

Rotary is where neighbors, friends and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change. For more information, contact Fultz at nwfultz@yahoo.com and see RotarySMAMidday.org.
