Former Mexican President Vicente Fox is the host of this one-day golf tournament that takes place in Churubusco, México City, with the goal of supporting the children of San Miguel.
MEXICO CITY – At least two hundred children will benefit from the third edition of the Ambassadors Golf Cup (Copa de Golf Embajadores), which focuses on gathering funds for the San Miguel de Allende’s Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation (CRISMA).
This one-day tournament will take place at Club de Golf Churubusco in Mexico City. The event is organized by former President Vicente Fox, who is currently in charge of “Centro Fox”, along with his wife Marta Sahagún, who is President of the “Vamos México” Foundation, and also presides CRISMA, infomed Aristegui Noticias online news outlet.

“It is worth collaborating and supporting a social and noble cause, especially for Mexico. Marta and I are delighted to be able to support the people in need, and at the same time we’re grateful with all who support our foundation”, said Vicente Fox.
“CRISMA rehabilitation center helps people with neurological problems and Mexicans living in poverty; in addition, this center provides therapies, we look for the one-of-a-kind technology in robotics and other tools we can help them under a model of care”, said the former first lady.
So far sixty-eight participants have been registered, paying a cooperation fee of $6,000 pesos ($333 USD), resulting in a total of $408,000 pesos ($22,666 USD) in funds, plus the contributions by sponsors.

Marta Sahagún explained that there are other ways of collecting, such as the fashion week that was held from June 8 to 10 in San Miguel de Allende, where national and international designers displayed their creations.
Another event called “Sponsor a Child”, consists on the contribution of $50,000 per year, to help with the rehabilitation of children.
Mrs. Sahagún also said that another program will be launched soon, consisting in the donation of bricks for the construction of a new CRISMA facility.
During the official announcement of the Golf Tournament, Marta and Vicente Fox were accompanied by four times World Cup winner Alejandro Quiroz, who expressed his pleasure to cooperate in this cause to help the children of San Miguel de Allende.
After the CRISMA presentation, former president Fox and his wife climbed into a golf cart and toured the course, while interacting with some of the participants.
