GUANAJUATO – A total of nine people were executed and two other resulted seriously injured during criminal attacks that took place in different parts of the state of Guanajuato this past weekend (June 3 – 4).
Among the victims are a railroad guard and a preventive police officer.
Additionally, the remains of a woman and a man were left inside plastic bags on a public highway.
A large number of executions, shootings, remains inside plastic bags, attacks against security elements, and even a stabbing were committed in the municipalities of León, San Miguel de Allende, San Francisco del Rincon, Celaya, Apaseo el Alto, Salamanca, Irapuato and Comonfort.
On the early morning hours of Saturday June 3rd, the body of a man was found inside two plastic bags in the neighborhood of “San Miguel de León”. According to witnesses, three subjects aboard a white Nissan, threw the plastic bags on th street and then fired their guns to the air. A message was written on one of the bags.
Also on Saturday, an armed criminal group aboard two pickup trucks opened fire in the neighborhood of “La ganadera”, Irapuato, killing two men. The victims were identified as Mario Rivera and Braulio David Juárez. Both had criminal records for felonies and crimes against public health (drug trafficking), officials reported.

In the meantime, several men entered a Municipal Police officer’s house and shot him in Salamanca. The official was identified as César Arturo Maldonado, who was at his home in the neighborhood of “San Francisco” accompanied by his relatives; when unidentified individuals broke in and went straight to shoot the man, who received at least four gunshots.
On the night of Saturday June 3, a gunfire attack took place in “San Francisco del Rincón”, west of Guanajuato, where one man was killed and two more resulted with serious injuries. This attack occurred in the neighborhood of “Nueva María”, when two suspects onboard a motorcycle arrived on “Colima” street and opened fire on a group of people standing in the street, killing one of the locals who was allegedly a factory worker.
During that attack, two other people resulted injured and one of them died as he was taken to a hospital to receive medical attention.
Around 10 pm, in Apaseo el Alto, the Municipal Police received a call from emergency number 911, reporting a SUV with human remains inside, on the Apaseo El Alto to Tarimoro highway
Later on, law enforcement agents arrived near the community of Barajas, where they found a dead body inside a green Ford Explorer van with Guanajuato license plates.
On the morning of Sunday June 4, a railoraod security guard employed by a private company that provides service to railway companies in the state, was found dead in “Empalme Escobedo”, a community in the municipality of Comonfort, his body was found right next to the railways, showing signs of extreme violence.
On the same day, a 45-year-old man was found stabbed to death near a river in the community “La Huerta”, municipality of San Miguel de Allende. The victim had injuries in various parts of his body, according to reports from the municipal police, civil protection department and the Red Cross, who attended the emergency call.
And on Sunday afternoon, Celaya residents found the remains of a woman inside plastic bags, on the “Santa Teresita” road.
