Automotive sector reaffirms investments in Guanajuato

With an investment of 35 million dollars, the Martinrea Plant expands its production with the opening of the Tandem Press in Silao, Guanajuato, which places it as the second printing company in North America.

This production center has a five-cylinder line of 5,900 tons automated by robots, for the manufacture of prints of chassis parts for Nissan, GM, Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz and BMW.

“More companies in the automotive sector, such as Martinrea, the world leader in engineering and manufacturing of industrial implements, reaffirm their confidence in Guanajuato with investments and the generation of jobs,” said Governor Miguel Márquez Marquez.

The company Martinrea Planta Silao is dedicated to the engineering and manufacturing of industrial implements, such as fuel tanks, steel and aluminum stamping and assemblies.

It currently has 15,000 employees worldwide in facilities located in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Slovakia, Spain and China.

The firm leads in the production of parts of chassis systems and modules, parts class A and B at body level, aluminum casting, injection molding, tooling workshop and machining; as well as fluid systems.

“This means more jobs, production and, above all, we are talking about greater competitiveness,” the governor added.

The event was attended by the secretary of Sustainable Economic Development, Guillermo Romero Pacheco; the director general of Guanajuato Puerto Interior, Luis Quiroz Echegaray; the president and CEO of Martinrea, Pat Deramo; Martinrea‘s CEO Joe Grunstein; and the senator and secretary of the CTM Union in Coahuila, Tereso Medina Ramírez.
