Former Mexican first lady Marta Sahagún de Fox gets free lot for her foundation

The Vamos México Foundation, A.C., Chaired by ex Mexican First Lady Marta Sahagún, already has a lot for the construction of the Integral Rehabilitation Center of San Miguel de Allende (CRISMA), and guess what? They got it for free!

The property was donated by the Municipality and it’s located in an area of urban equipment near the Municipal Commission of Sport (Comude), which was authorized by majority in the City Council: 11 votes in favor and only one against.

The officials justified the issue of social justice, beyond benefiting individuals, as they rely on the commitment of this association to help hundreds of children with some form of disability. With the donation of the land, the foundation will invest 50 million pesos (2.7 Million USD) in the construction of the CRISMA.

San Miguel Mayor Ricardo Villarreal explained that once the donation of the land has been approved, the “Vamos México” association has an estimated six months to begin with the construction of the first stage.

The donation consists of a two hectares lot and if they do not meet construction times, it could be revoked.

“The project will be done in three stages, but once the first one is ready, they will begin to provide care to the children who need it,” Villarreal concluded.
